“Until one has loved an animal, part of one’s soul remains unawakened... Anatole France..

When the time comes for our beloved animals that share their world with us, to leave this physical place it can be one of the most painful periods of our life that we experience.  These beautiful beings, not only are our best friends, family and soul mates they are also a radiant flame within us and we hold them dearly within our heart space  and the emotions that we feel for them are very real and we can experience a great sense of loss and immeasurable grief.

Many times I hear the animals tell me that they do not want to die alone, they want to pass over to the spirit world amongst their family, in a quiet loving atmosphere surrounded by the people that they love and this can be quite challenging for us when our emotions are very raw and our hearts are breaking.

The emotions that the animals feel are very real and some are frightened about leaving this world, some are ready to leave and just need the space to be held sacred which allows them to do this.  They wonder what is to become of those left behind and what will become of them if they choose to leave. They have messages for their beloved people and want them to know how much they love them.

This can be one of the most exceptionally trying period for us, especially when we are given the chance to euthanize our animal and end his or her suffering and in some cases it is the hardest thing we have to decide and what is really best for the animal. There are so many questions that we need answering and are they truly ready to go and if they are ready to go, what holds them back in this world.

In meditation, I was informed that somebody needed to do this for the animals, to speak with them and guide them through this process, to help them deal with leaving their people and to help their people to know that everything is going to be fine for their beloved animal.

Soul Midwifery is about delivering the soul back to the world in which they come from, to the many spirit beings waiting to take them home and into the arms of love

I offer this service to you, coming from a place of immense love for the animals, using Essence therapy to make the transition a beautiful space, to allow all to have peace of heart and to give to you special messages and words of wisdom if they come through and to hold them in sacredness.

Some of the many essences are used in this space:

Horse – for opening the heart chakra  Dove -  for deep peace  Snake – for shedding what does not serve us at this time and for transformation  Butterfly – for  the transition to the other side.

 And for the humans

Buffalo – for holding us here on earth and grounding us - Hippopotamus - for being in touch with our deepest feelings  - Gazelle – for being safe within those feelings - Horse – for being gentle with ourselves and allowing our heart to be open

Please email me through the contacts page for further information.

Thank you for being Holly’s support person as she crossed over to the other side and the care and love you gave to her didn’t go unnoticed by all members of our family. You were her rock in her time of need. The death rites you gave her on her passing were so beautiful and very fitting for a horse that filled our hearts with love.

I wasn't really looking forward to the time when Mac died, and I knew the time was coming soon, I thought there would be lots of tears and it would be an extremely sad emotional time. Having you with Mac when he crossed over was a blessing, and we were able to laugh at all the funny things he said to you, and remember the funny antics he did as a pup and through his life. Never thought that his death would be so beautiful. Thank you with all my heart. Mx

I offer you the following poem, which somebody sent to me, it is in a book written by Robinson Jeffers, (page 70) I don’t know if he wrote the poem, or he is quoting the poem, but it is such a delightful piece that all should read.

The House Dog’s Grave

(Haig, an English Bulldog)

I’ve changed my ways a little” I cannot now

Run with you in the evenings along the shore,

Except in a kind of dream; you , if you dream a moment,

You see me there.

So leave awhile the paw-marks on the front door

Where I used to scratch to out or in,

And you’d soon open’ leave on the kitchen floor

The marks of my drinking-pan.

I cannot lie by your fire as I used to do

On the warm stone,

Nor at the foot of your bed’ no, all the nights through

I lie alone.

But your kind thought has laid me less than six feet

Outside your window where firelight so often plays,

And where you sit to read – and I fear often grieving for me –

Every night your lamplight lies on my place.

You, man and woman, live so long, it is hard

To think of you ever dying.

A little dog would get tired, living so long,

I hope that when you are lying.

Under the ground like me your lives will appear

As good and joyful as mine.

No, dears, that’s too much hope: you are not so well cared for

As I have been.

And never have known the passionate undivided

Fidelities that I knew

Your minds are perhaps too active, to many sided.....

But to me you were true.

You were never masters, but friends.

I was your friend.

I loved you well and was loved.  Deep love endures

To the end and far past the end.  If this is my end,

I am not lonely.

I am not afraid.

I am still yours.
